Why Choose Natural Perfumes

Perfume is probably one of the better gift choices when you don’t have time to shop around for many different things. Although picking a scent for your friends is totally different from choosing fragrances for your colleagues, it is by far the kind of gift that anybody would appreciate.

Admittedly though, even if you’re just choosing a scent for yourself it can sometimes become confusing, if not frustrating. With an interesting display of attractive bottles to catch your fancy and various perfume notes that can appeal even to the most discriminating olfactory nerve, you’d probably end up choosing more scents than you originally intended to buy. But whether you’re planning to give it as gift or keeping it for yourself, it is important to have some guidelines before going to the perfumery.

It would save you time and money if you test the perfume fragrance oils on your skin first. You would know in a matter of minutes if the scent blends well with your body chemistry.

People react differently to certain types of chemicals. Synthetic ingredients are usually added to many commercial fragrances so watch out for skin allergies, rashes or any adverse reactions. When that happens, better try natural perfume. It is a good alternative to synthetic types because it uses ingredients that are not harmful to the environment and therefore safer to use. With more and more people looking for alternatives and organic ingredients getting support from all over, going natural is now more than just a trend.

To know if you’re buying the natural stuff, go look for organic perfumes in specialty shops. You can ask friends for recommendations to make sure that you’ll get the real deal. Usually, these types of scents use single notes like lavender, lily or other floral fragrances but there are available blends too so don’t worry that you’d run out of choices. Another good thing about natural perfumes is that you can personalize it. Some shops offer to blend in available ingredients for you so you can have a scent distinctly your own.

Natural perfumes are made up of organic essential oils, distilled water and natural grain alcohol unlike synthetic fragrances which are mostly made from petroleum based derivatives. The energizing and relaxing effects (depending on the ingredients used) of natural perfumes are just some of the benefits of using this type of scent. And besides, “natural” works with any skin type even the most sensitive ones so it’s definitely worth the try.
